Giro D’Italia results so far.

Today is the first rest day of the Giro, and we’ve had some exciting stages so far.

Stage 1.

The first stage was a 21.7km Team Time Trial in Belfast.

Team Garmin Sharp got into a bit of trouble during their run when Dan Martin’s wheels slid from under him when riding over a drain cover made greasy by the rain that had dampened the course earlier that day.  His fall brought three other’s down with him – Andre Cardoso, Nathan Haas and Koldo Fernandez – while the rest of the team sat up and waited to see if the Irishman would be able to remount, he did not.

Martin and Fernandez are both out with suspected broken collar bones.
