Garmin Edge 200 – Reviewed

The Garmin Edge 200 is the cheapest Garmin GPS cycle computer out there, at just £79.99 on Amazon.

Garmin 200

It is a brilliant little piece of kit, it records your current speed, average speed, milage (Km/Mi), Laps, ascents, and even has a “ghost rider” function.

If you use Garmin Connect, Map My Ride or anything similar be sure to check the routes you plan as this GPS computer cannot tell the difference between on and off road, quite a few times i’ve ended up on dirt or gravel tracks and praying my tyres hold up! The GPS signal is a bit iffy too, if you have a lot of cloud coverage it becomes very temperamental when finding a signal, however when it finds one it doesn’t lose it.

Overall this little Garmin is great for recording rides on Strava and tracking your speeds and distance throughout your rides, but for £80 don’t expect too much!

If you prefer something a little better, check out our review of the 200’s older brother, the Garmin 500.
